This Officer, the Adjutant of his Battalion, took part in all the actions of the 46th Division between September 29th and October 17th 1918. He displayed great aptitude for organisation and skilful handling of Companies under trying circumstances. On September 29th and again on October 17th when the Battalion had to attack under cover of a thick fog, and portions of the Battalion had lost touch and direction, by his coolness, sound judgement and disregard of personal safety he was able to collect remnants of Companies and reform them, leading them successfully to their final objectives. This Officer during long service with his Battalion, has shown on all occasions courage and devotion.
