(Recommended for Distinguished Conduct Medal)

For exceptional services and gallantry under fire during the period under review (17/09/1918 to 11/11/1918). This N.C.O., who is No. 1 of a Lewis-gun has on many occasions during operations from 29/09/1918 BELLENGLISE to 11/11/1918 shown courage of a high order, notably during the operations between CARTIGNY and SEMERIES from the 6th/10th 1918, when he greatly assisted the advance of his Company by the courageous and skilful use of his Lewis-gun against enemy machine-guns. The example set by this N.C.O. in courage and determination is invaluable.

Submitted for Peace Despatch 12/01/1919; Awarded D.C.M. in Birthday Honours, L/G 03/06/1919
