For exceptional services and gallantry operations from 29/09/1918 BELLENGLISE onwards. On the 29/09/1918 he was out with his limber moving ammunition to forward dumps. He worked for fourteen hours incessantly under heavy shell fire for most of the time and did not cease until he had moved all the ammunition from the rear dump. On many other occasions during subsequent operations he has displayed the greatest gallantry and devotion to duty in spite of heavy enemy fire and casualties in bringing up rations and ammunition. He has never failed in a task entrusted to him. This man came out with the Division and has served with it continuously since.
