(Recommended for Distinguished Conduct Medal)
For exceptional services gallantry and devotion to duty during the period under review (17/09/1918 – 11/11/1918) and during a total period of four years continuous service since the Division came to France on 28/02/1915. This N.C.O. is employed with the Regimental Transport and I cannot speak too highly of his work as Transport Corporal. He has on many occasions shown marked courage and resource when bringing rations up to the line under enemy shell fire, notably during operations from 29/09/1918 to 10/11/1918 BELLENGLISE-SEMERIES when shell fire was often severe. In spite of casualties to both men an animals he has never once failed to deliver rations entrusted to him. He has always set a splendid example to the men under him in courage, energy and devotion to duty.
